Our Mission

Answering the Call to "GO"
In our pursuit of spreading the gospel, we wholeheartedly respond to the call to "GO" as instructed by the Lord in Matthew 28:19. Our mission is twofold: to proclaim the life-transforming message of Christ to those bound behind bars and to establish a strong connection with the local church, informing them about the mighty hand of God at work among men and women who, despite their physical imprisonment, have found true freedom in Christ.

Proclaiming Freedom Behind Bars
Imprisonment may confine the bodies of men and women, but it cannot restrict the power of the gospel. We are committed to bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to those who are incarcerated, sharing a message of hope, redemption, and liberation. Through our ministry, we strive to break the chains of despair and replace them with the hope found in Christ's love and salvation.

Reaching Out to the Local Church
Recognizing the vital role of the local church in the body of Christ, we actively engage with these communities, eager to inform them of the work that God is doing among those imprisoned. By reaching out to the local churches, we aim to establish partnerships, fostering a unified effort to support and encourage those who have accepted Christ while behind bars. Together, we can proclaim the remarkable stories of changed lives and demonstrate the impact of His mighty hand on those who have found true freedom in Christ.

The Freedom Found in Christ
Though physically confined, the men and women we serve have discovered a freedom that surpasses any earthly bondage. In their spiritual transformation, they have encountered a profound liberation through their faith in Jesus Christ. Their lives bear witness to the power of forgiveness, restoration, and hope that can only come from a personal relationship with the Savior. Through support and discipleship, we stand alongside these individuals, reminding them that, despite their circumstances, they can experience the eternal freedom found in Christ.
As Follow Up Ministries International, we are dedicated to simplifying our mission, focusing on answering the call to "GO." We believe in proclaiming the gospel behind bars and forming meaningful partnerships with local churches to highlight the incredible work of God among those imprisoned. Together, we can celebrate the message of freedom in Christ and the extraordinary transformation that takes place in the lives of prisoners, demonstrating the powerful impact of God's love and grace.

Wherever His gospel is preached, His mighty hand is at work.

Many come to know and be known by Him while being incarcerated. They have the need to be discipled and to grow in discernment. There are fellow inmates that know and teach sound doctrine but at the end of the day they wear the same prison issue as the others. When we spend a weekend with the men or women in chapels, gyms, or classrooms, we emphasize and teach scripture and always find men and women of God who are like-minded and value the truth from the Word of God over tradition, emotions and feelings. All of us are called to remember, pray and visit our fellow Christians who are in prison.

[Hebrews 13:3- “Remember the prisoners as though in prison with them.]

Sadly they are easily forgotten, out of site and out of heart. And yet we must continue to try. We are His servants. When we minister to them, we minister to Christ.

[Matthew 25:36- “Naked you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me.”]

What’s Important

  • First and foremost, FUMI has been ministering to thousands of inmates for almost 70 years and Lord willing will continue to do so until He comes. While sharing the gospel is most important, we also exhort and encourage the genuine brothers and sisters behind walls. They are surrounded by false religions, false teachers and haters of Christ. Those that are reached by us, in turn reach those we are not able to reach. We teach the full counsel of God by His Word and the importance of scripture over tradition, experience, and our feelings.

  • We will always prioritize reaching out to the local like-minded churches. We are all the body of Christ and we rely on the prayers of our brethren. We strive to let the churches know of the mighty power of Christ shown to those who believe and call out to Jesus.

  • We teach and proclaim the gospel through our biblical correspondence lessons which are sent throughout the United States, Mexico, Ghana and Tanzania.

  • All our materials are also written in Spanish so in part we are able to reach the Spanish speaking population throughout California, facilitating seminars, church services and bibles studies.
