Michael’s Struggle & Prison Ministry
In early 2013, Michael faced a significant challenge when he suffered a stroke. Filled with hope and determination, he cried to the Lord Jesus Christ from his heart for healing, promising to serve the children and marginalized in society with His word if given the opportunity to recover. His prayers were answered, and he began his journey to recovery.
Michael found FUMI by searching online for prison ministry material. Ever since he found us he’s been using the Scripture Investigation Course to reach prisoners and youth in Ghana. As of 2023, hundreds of people have been reached by the Word of God thanks to God’s work in Michael’s life.

Meet the FUMI Partner
Samuel A. Mwakasungula is the national director of FUMI in Tanzania. He is married to Vallerie, and together, they have been blessed with four children, consisting of two girls and two boys.
Samuel's educational background includes graduating from the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Denver, Colorado, USA, as an extension of Arusha, Tanzania. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies from this institute.
Additionally, he completed his studies at the East African Mission School in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where he was awarded a Bachelor's degree in Intercultural Studies..
The Beginnings of His Prison Ministry
In 2012, Samuel began serving with Follow Up Ministries, collaborating with Glenn Morrison, the Founder of Follow Up Ministries International. Unfortunately, Glenn Morrison passed away on September 17, 2016. Samuel learned more about prison ministry with Glenn via WhatsApp and correspondence courses.
He believes that spreading the Gospel is not confined to specific boundaries or avoiding challenges like imprisonment. Instead, Samuel and his team are determined to reach out to people who have been marginalized by their communities, giving them the opportunity to hear and obey the Gospel.
