GHANA
Doris & Michael Tetteh were married in 2006 and serve together.
Meet the FUMI Partner
Michael Tetteh, born in 1962, is a Ga-Adangbe tribe member as well as a native from Odumase Krobo in the eastern region of Ghana. He is a member of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Hope Congregation, and New Saasabi, in the Oyibi District of Accra.
From 1980 to 1983, Michael attended Pastoral Training Institute in Ghana. In 1983, Michael embarked on his first missionary journey to Ivory Coast. There, he pursued French language studies at the University of Abidjan. He graduated in 1985.
In 2003, Michael attended the Literacy & Evangelism Training Institute, organized by the United Bible Societies in Africa in collaboration with Literacy & Evangelism International in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA.
Michael & Prison Ministry
In 2013, Michael faced a significant challenge when he suffered a stroke. Filled with hope and determination, he cried to the Lord Jesus Christ from his heart for healing, promising to serve the children and the marginalized in society with God’s Word if given the opportunity to recover. His prayers were answered, and he began his journey to recovery.
Michael found FUMI by searching online for prison ministry material. Ever since he found us, he’s been using the Scripture Investigation Course to reach prisoners and youth in Ghana. As of 2023, hundreds of people have been reached by the Word of God thanks to God’s work in Michael’s life.

TANZANIA

Meet the FUMI Partner
Samuel A. Mwakasungula is the national director of FUMI in Tanzania. He is married to Vallerie, and together, they have been blessed with four children: two girls and two boys.
Samuel's educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Bear Valley Bible Institute in Denver, Colorado, USA, as an extension of Arusha, Tanzania.
Additionally, he completed his studies at the East African Mission School in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where he was awarded a Bachelor's degree in Intercultural Studies.
Samuel & Prison Ministry
In 2012, Samuel began serving with FUMI, collaborating with its founder Glenn Morrison. Samuel learned more about prison ministry with Glenn via WhatsApp and correspondence courses.
Though Glenn unfortunately passed away on September 17, 2016, Samuel has carried on. He believes that spreading the Gospel is not confined by specific boundaries or by the avoidance of challenges like imprisonment. Rather, Samuel and his team are determined to reach out to people who have been marginalized by their communities, giving them the opportunity to hear and obey the Gospel.
