Our Board of Directors sets a budget at the start of each year, estimating income and expenses on the basis of the prior year's results. This includes paying a small part-time staff, and meeting normal expenses for travel and communication, and for upkeep of the central office in Castro Valley, California. Volunteer leaders in the various regions raise funds to pay for their own living and travel expenses. While most of the work of ministry is done by volunteers, a core of professional staff is essential for oversight and development.

Bible-believing Christians should care about prisoners for several reasons, as the Bible emphasizes the importance of compassion, redemption, and justice.
Jesus himself reached out to marginalized and outcast individuals, including prisoners. In Matthew 25:36, Jesus said, "I was in prison, and you came to visit me." Christians seek to follow Jesus' example by ministering to those who are incarcerated, recognizing that their actions toward prisoners reflect their love and devotion to Christ.
Why Prisoners?
